Daily word game
Guess-a-Word is PolyYapp's daily game. The app picks one Dutch word for the day, the same word for every player, and you find it by asking yes-or-no questions in Dutch. An AI game master answers in one or two short Dutch sentences, with a translation into your language. You get 10 questions and 3 hints a day.

How a game goes
You type a question in Dutch, for example "Is het een dier?", or you type a guess. The game master replies in natural Dutch and shows the translation underneath, so every question is a small piece of reading practice as well as a step towards the word. Ask in another language and you are reminded to ask in Dutch.
The word is new every day (midnight UTC) and does not repeat within 100 days. Because everyone gets the same word, you can compare results with friends, and the share sheet writes a short result to send.
History and streaks
A history screen lists your past games with how many you have played, how many you won and your win rate. Playing counts towards the same daily streak as lessons.
What it does not do
- There is one word a day, so there is one game a day.
- Questions are capped at 10 a day.
- Your questions are sent to an AI provider to generate the answers.
The other features
Spaced repetition
Every lesson is filled first with the Dutch words due for review, then topped up with new ones. Each word climbs its own review schedule.
Exercises
5 exercise types, from recognising a Dutch word to typing it from audio and filling it into a sentence. Harder ones unlock per word.
Your own words
Search the Dutch dictionary, add the words you meet in real life, and they join the same review schedule as everything else.
Learn in your language
Study Dutch straight from English, Spanish, French, Polish, Russian, Turkish or Ukrainian: one setting changes the app and the meanings.
